5. Cleaning
The intensity and the time intervals of the cleaning depend on the requirements on the
medium to be pumped. For intensive cleaning the motor has to be dismantled and the
pump has to be disassembled.
Attention!
x
Clean pumps and accessories for conveying food at least once a
day carefully with an appropriate cleaning agent. To do so, dis-
assemble pump and accessory (see the corresponding chapter).
Attention!
x
Never store the motor in areas in which corrosive vapours exist.
> Clean the pump by flushing an appropriate cleaning agent.
> Pump and flexible hose must be compatible with the cleaning agent.
> The pump should not be immersed deeper into the liquid than the outlet connection.
> When using flammable cleaning agents, comply with safety instructions as to
explosion-proof equipment.
> After each operation with sticky or self-hardening products, the pump should be
flushed with a suitable cleaning agent. The pump should then be dismantled and
the mechanical seal carefully cleaned.
> On models F 550... with elastomer stators (NBR, CSM, FKM) a few drops of lubri-
cant (oil, glycerine, etc.) should be put on the stator and on the eccentric worm after
cleaning. Afterwards run the motor briefly.
> On models F 560... with elastomer stators (NBR) a few drops of lubricant (food-
grade oil) should be put on the stator and on the eccentric worm after cleaning. Af-
terwards run the motor briefly.
> After cleaning check o-rings for damage and replace if necessary.
> Do visually check internal thread. In case of any sediment or dirt, clean by an ap-
propriate tool and check again for cleanness.
> Disassemble pumps and accessories for conveying food (see the corresponding
chapter) and clean parts and components with an appropriate cleaning agent.
> Observe
internal
instructions.
