Performing a Sample Analysis
Before sample analysis, perform the following steps:
•
Check the fluidics bottles. Fill the cleaner and rinse bottles, if necessary, and empty the waste
bottle.
•
If necessary for the particular sample, change the flow cell.
•
If necessary for the particular sample, change the objective lens and pump syringe.
•
Define the context settings for the sample.
To run a sample:
1.
Using a pipettor with an ejector, pipette at least 1 mL of sample, place the pipette tip into the
sample introduction port on the top of the analyzer, eject it and leave it there.
2.
Click the
AutoImage
(or
Trigger Mode
) tool on the toolbar. The Stop Conditions dialog opens.
3.
Select any desired stop conditions, enter any desired notes and click
OK
.
4.
Click
Save
to enter a filename and save your list file.
Note:
The default filenaming scheme is the Julian day and time on the FlowCam computer.
5.
The analyzer begins pulling the sample, the AutoImage window indicates that the analyzer is
calibrating, and the Collage window opens so you can see the images being captured.
6.
When the sample finishes, the Collage window closes.
7.
Click the
Show All
button on the toolbar to see the results.
8.
Click the
Open View
button to see the images.
