causes and remedies for the troubles.

Insufficient capacity
and/or pressure.
Suction pressure or speed too
low.
Incorrect direction or rotation.
Excessive amount of air or
vapours in the liquid.
Foreign material in impeller.
Foreign material in suction
line.
Mechanical causes:
Impeller damaged by foreign
material.
Broken or damaged coupling.
Open suction valve wide. Check power
supply for correct voltage.
Check driver instruction book.
Check suction system for air leakage and
correct. Vent air, Tighten flange bolts.
Dismantle pump and remove any foreign
material.
Dismantle suction line and remove foreign
material.
Dismantle pump and correct.
Pump loses prime after
starting.
Insufficient liquid supply.
Excessive amount of air or
vapour in the liquid.
Clogged impeller.
Suction pipe clogged.
Ensure that suction valve is wide open.
Check for appropriate liquid level.
Blocked suction strainer.
Check suction system for air leakage and
correct.
Dismantle pump and correct.
Remove foreign material.
Pump vibration.
Loose mounting or coupling
bolts.
Coupling.
Air or gas in liquid.
Incorrect installation.
Foreign material in impeller
causing unbalance.
Mechanical
causes:
Shaft
bent.
Tighten bolts.
Check alignment and correct.
Vent air and check suction for leaks.
Tighten flange bolts.
Baseplate not correctly supported along
rails.
Dismantle pump and remove any foreign
material.
Dismantle pump and replace part or parts
causing vibration.
