BE METRIC EQUIVALENT. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO HAVE AN ADJUSTABLE WRENCH AVAILABLE DURING
ASSEMBLY.
YOU WILL NEED (1) ½” x 36” PIECE OF REBAR (NOT PROVIDED) DURING FOOTING PORTION OF ASSEMBLY! REBAR
CAN BE PURCHASED AT BUILDERS SUPPLY CENTER WHERE YOU PURCHASE CONCRETE.
1. Unpack all components and cross check against bill of materials to make sure all parts and hardware
are included. If any parts are missing, call First Team toll free 1-888-884-6677 immediately.
2. Locate and dig a footing hole 18” diameter by 24” deep. The edge of the footing hole should be flush
to the edge of the playing surface. Keep in mind that with the rim raised to 10’, the distance from the
front of the pole to the face of the backboard will be approximately 13”.
3. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! In this step, if you have difficulty identifying which post section is the
LOWER POST, call First Team immediately for help 1-888-884-6677. Locate the 3” diameter LOWER
POST section. The vertical post is comprised of 3 sections, the LOWER POST section is the one with the
fewest number of holes. NOTE: One end of the LOWER POST is “reduced” in diameter, this is the top
end.
4. Using a pencil or other marker, measure up from the bottom of the LOWER POST 8” and make a mark
on the outside of the LOWER POST.
