Dispensing Change
Summit Series UND User’s Guide
How Is Change Dispensed?
When change is needed to fill a cash drawer, you can do one of the following:
•
Withdraw change without first depositing notes to “pay” for the change. This is known
as
dispensing on credit
.
You do not have to put any money in to the safe to get change out. You simply select which
denomination of notes is needed and the UND will dispense it.
Your system administrator can set limits on how much each user can dispense per
transaction and per day. Once these limits are reached, the user can no longer dispense
notes until the next transaction, or until the next business day.
For instructions, see
•
Buy notes
by exchanging notes for smaller note denominations.
You must deposit funds in the controlling safe in order to dispense change. You can only
dispense notes up to the value you have deposited, so if $50 worth of ones is needed, you
must deposit larger bills worth $50 into the deposit safe. If you deposit more than is
needed to “purchase” the change, the remainder of the deposit is credited to you as a
Buy Vend Credit.
There are no limits to the amount of change you can buy per transaction, or per day.
For instructions, see
Buying Change Notes (Buy Vend) on page 35
.
The Withdrawal button is available on the Main Menu only if your system
administrator has configured the safe to allow purchasing or vending of change.
Note
If communication between the UND and the Summit Series controller unit is lost, you
will be unable to dispense change from the UND, and a “Device is not connected”
message will appear. Contact technical support for assistance if this occurs (see
