Summit Series UND User’s Guide
end-of-day (EOD) transaction
A transaction that clears all the totals on the safe, allowing you to balance your point-of-sale system (POS), and
begin the next business day with a zero balance (even though there is still cash in the safe). The total amount of
cash left in the POS drawer, plus the cash deposited in the safe, should equal the total sales for the day.

peripheral unit
Optional Summit Series units for coin and note dispensing. Each must be connected to a Summit controller unit

Universal Note Dispenser (UND)
session
The period of time a user is logged into the safe to perform deposit or other transactions. Begins when a user logs
in to the safe, and ends when the user logs off the safe. A normal session allows a user to remain logged in to the
safe for a maximum of 2 minutes (by default; this value can be changed by your administrator). See also

time delay
A timer that delays the unlocking of the vault by a specific length of time, as defined by your system administrator.
Time delays are a deterrent to armed robbery.
time lock
A timer that prevents the opening of the safe or vault until it reaches the preset time, even if you are otherwise
authorized to open the safe or vault. For example, if the time lock is configured to prevent access between 12am
and 5am, you cannot open the safe if it is currently 1am.
Universal Coin Dispenser (UCD)
A Summit Series peripheral that allows you to vend rolled coin at high-speed without the use of tubes. Paper or
plastic wrapped coin rolls can be used directly as they come from the bank.
Universal Note Dispenser (UND)
A Summit Series peripheral that provides high-speed note dispensing when connected to a Summit controller
unit. Each of the four cassettes can hold up to 500 notes, and each cassette currency is customizable to fit your
unique requirements.
Universal Note Recycler (UNR)
A Summit Series safe that functions as an under-the-counter cash recycler. Notes can be both deposited and
dispensed from the same unit. The notes are securely stored, while the UNR automatically manages the cash
inventory.
Universal Tube Dispenser (UTD)
A Summit Series peripheral that allows you to vend both coin and notes from the same unit. Each UTD holds up
to 80 tubes, 10 tubes per column. Each of the eight columns can be configured to hold any denomination, and
tubes are automatically counted when they are loaded and dispensed.
