INSTALLATION INFORMATION
The DPK4 has been de vel oped to de tect smoke in ven ti la tion ducts and
com bines a smoke de tec tor and an adap tor sys tem where both duct probe
tube and hous ing are spe cially de signed for op ti mum air flow through the
smoke de tec tor. The sys tem de tects smoke in in com ing air, out go ing air and
cir cu la tion air ducts of ven ti la tion and con di tion ing sys tems. The duct probe
is es pe cially rec om mended for in stal la tions in air ducts with an air flow of 1
m/s to 20 m/s.
INSERTING THE DETECTOR
– Open the hous ing by dis en gag ing at the top and turn ing anticlockwise by 30°.
– In sert the de tec tor like usual.
– Close the hous ing.
MOUNTING OF THE DUCT PROBE
De ter mi ne the exact in stal la tion site
The duct probe should be in stalled with the air flow di rec tion ar rows (see the
duct probe foot’s shape or on the hous ing top) cor re spond ing to the di rec tion
of the air flow in the duct. The duct probe is po si tion in de pend ent and can be
in stalled on any side of the duct. We rec om mend that the duct probe is
mounted at an equal dis tance from heat ing, cool ing, or hu mid ity de vices, as
flow mon i tors are. A dis tance of 3 times the duct di am e ter should be left
be -
fore
a damper, fil ter or change of the duct di rec tion, and 5 times the di am e -
