Installation
7.1
Pneumatic Installation
Consider whether an emergency pneumatic supply and check valves are required
to prevent sudden compensating movements of the piston rod and a sudden drop
of the movable mass in a vertical or inclined mounting position if the pressure
drops.
DFPI-...-ND2P-C1V-A
1. If applicable, remove the adhesive labels from the supply ports.
2. Select suitable fittings (connection G
¼
).
3. Mount fittings on ports P and R
è
4. Attach tubing to ports P and R.
DFPI-...-ND2P-C1V-PA (protected pneumatic connections)
Use preassembled connecting cable with protective conduit or externally calib
rated pneumatic connecting cables
è
Outside diameter – port P: 8 mm; port R: 10 mm.
The flange type socket has two threaded holes
è
Pushin fittings are preassembled at the factory (included in the scope of deliv
ery).
1. If necessary, loosen the cable connector
è
Assembly instructions for
accessories.
2. If necessary, remove the blanking plugs from the pushin fittings.
3. Decide whether exhaust should be local (directly at the DFPI) or guided.
1 Pneumatic port R (exhaust)
2 Port for local exhaust with plug
screw (exworks) or filter nipple
or silencer (optional)
3 Passage for electrical cables
4 Pneumatic connection P
(compressed air supply)
Fig. 7
With guided exhaust:
The plug screw (
è
Fig.7) is already mounted and the DFPI is thus prepared for
guided exhaust.
1. If the blanking screw has been removed, close the port for local exhaust again
with the sealing ring and plug screw.
Tightening torque 13.5 Nm.
2. Attach tubing to ports P and R.
For local exhaust (directly at the DFPI):
1. Close the unused port R (
è
Fig.4) with a blanking plug (accessory).
2. Remove the plug screw
è
3. Screw the filter nipple G
¼
(for exhaust without silencer) or silencer G
¼
(accessory) into the port for local exhaust (
è
Tightening torque 4 Nm ± 10%.
4. Connect tubing to port P
è
In both cases:
•
In the unpressurised state, check that the tube connection is secure by
pulling gently on the tube.
When using the connecting cable available as an accessory:
–
Mount cable fitting and protective conduit
è
Assembly instructions.
Loosen tubing
1. Press and hold the pushin fitting.
2. Carefully pull the tube out of the pushin fitting.
Before using the tubing again, cut off the damaged part.

Electrical Installation
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to electric shock.
•
For the electrical power supply with extralow voltages, use only PELV circuits
that guarantee a reinforced isolation from the mains network.
•
Observe IEC 602041/EN 602041.
NOTICE!
Damage to the electronics and malfunctions due to installation errors.
•
The maximum permissible signal line length is 15 m.
•
Connect the earth terminal to the earth potential with low impedance (short
cable with large crosssection). Tightening torque 5 Nm ± 10%.
•
Make sure that the electrical connecting cable is sufficiently sized.
Recommended for the DFPI...ND2PC1VPA:
•
Use the preassembled connecting cable NHSB with protective conduit
è
The electrical connection is covered by the flange type socket. The flange type
socket must be removed for the electrical installation.
