10.3Sanding surfaces with the horizontal belt
Stop - piece support
Before sanding surfaces with the horizontal belt, always position the stop - piece support on
the belt, as described in paragraph 7.1 of this manual.
To perform surface sanding operations with the horizontal belt, proceed as follows:
1. Check that the stop - piece support is securely attached to the machine.
2. Press the green button to start (Figure 14).
3. Place the piece to be sanded on the belt, and then push it slightly until it is resting
against the stop - piece support without touching the belt with your fingers or hands
(Figure 17).

4. Move the workpiece gently during sanding, paying close attention when working with
very thin pieces.
5. After processing, turn off the machine by pressing the red stop button (see Figure 15).
If very long pieces need to be sanded, the stop - piece support will have to be removed To do
this, turn off the machine and wait until the belt has stopped.
Risk of abrasion and accident
Never interfere with the machine when turned on, with the belt and disc in motion.
Before making adjustments switch off the machine and wait until the abrasive tools are
stationary.
