4. OPERATION
Set the thermostat draught control knob on the required tem perature.
To prevent condensation in the firebox, it is advisable to set the control knob onto 60°C; the ideal thing would
be to set it on 80°C and adjust the heating water temperature with the mixer valve.
Fill the firebox with combustible material (paper and wood) and, once there is a good bed of fire and embers,
add small and medium pieces of coke: once ignited, the boiler operates automatically.
The only necessary manual operations are:
Periodically clean the fireplace through the front grate, emptying the ashpan, by opening the bottom door.
Periodically load the fireplace with coke through the top door. Remember that with a full load of coke, the boi-
ler can keep working, without adding any more fuel, for from at least approximately 4 hours (rated operation)
to at most approximately 12 hours (reduced operation) with the draught control on a temperature setting of
between 80°C and 40°C respectively.
Adjust the flue gas adjustment gate opening to "
m
" adjust chimney draught to obtain balanced combustion,
neither too fast nor too slow (as a guide: open for normal operation, shut for reduced operation, with variable
openings for intermediate capacities and according to the draught of the chimney).
5. TRANSFORMATION FOR USE WITH OIL BURNER
An optional kit is available for use of an oil burner.
The oil burner must be mounted on upper port, through the optional kit described in this paragraph. Once
mounted the burner, the installer must check correct closing and sealing of door. For burner setting, please
follow instruction of burner manufacturer. Power output of burner should be set into power input max-min
range of the boiler with oil fuel (check paragraph 2).
If boiler has been already used with solid fuel, before installation is necessary to clear both the combustion
chamber and flue passages.
For kit installation please follow this procedure (check fig. 5):
1 Remove the chain and the arm from thermostaic regulator “H” (see fig. 4).
2 Adjust the regolation screw of air damper until the air damper is completely closed (“L” = 0)
3 Unscrew and remove the upper front door and the control panel
4 Insert and lock flue deflector “5” to front element
5 Remove left screw “6”
6 Mount the two special screw “3” on left side, using special key inserted into kit
