WARNING WARNING
BEFORE YOU DRIVE
Check that the seat belts are fas-
tened.
Check that the doors are closed.
Check that the seat is properly
adjusted.
Check the rear-view mirror adjust-
ment (centre and sides).
Before a trip
Preliminary checks
Check the following at regular intervals
and always before long trips:
- tyre pressure and condition
- levels of fl uids and lubricants
- condition of the windscreen wiper blades
- proper functioning of the warning lights
and external lights.
In any case, it is advisable to perform
these checks at least every 1000 km
(620 mi.), and to always comply with
the maintenance schedule.
It is also advisable to:
- clean the glass covers of the external
lights and all the glass surfaces
- properly adjust the mirrors, steering
wheel, seats and seat belts.
Recommended lubricants and fl uids
WARNING WARNING
Use unleaded fuel only!
Using leaded fuel would
permanently damage the catalytic
converters.
For specifi cations and quantities of
lubricants and fl uids, follow the
information reported in the
“Recommended lubricants and fl uids”
table on page 25.
Starting and driving the vehicle
(F1 gearbox)
System starting
When the ignition key is turned to
position
II
the gear display and all its
segments, as well as the relative failure
warning light turn on. The warning light
will turn off if no problems are detected
within a few seconds.
The gear currently engaged will remain
highlighted on the display.
