Conversation timing between panel and apartment is limited.
- by the MDS panel conversation "maximum time" parameter (may vary from 10 seconds to 5 minutes).
- by the ADS terminal timing itself (limits maximum conversation time to 90 seconds)
The valid timing will therefore be the shorter of the two.
If a call is made from an indoor panel and then someone tries to call from the MDS Digital General Entrance
to the same block, the general panel (MDS Digital) will indicate that audio is busy, to respect the indoor
conversation. This time is defined by the minimum conversation time set in the MDS Digital system. If a
call is made from the general entrance, the indoor ADS panels shut off for a typical set time of around 15
seconds.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Calls from interior ADS panels may NEVER be diverted to the guard unit from the General Entrance and
it is not possible to call the concierge from them.
If there is an MDS DIRECT General Entrance and Guard Unit in the facility, the General
Entrance panel/s must be programmed from number 1
11
11 onwards.
They must NEVER be
programmed with value 0.
The ADS system limitations within each block must be respected (distance, section, supply).
It is not possible to establish communication between two apartments even though an MDS Guard Unit is
used, as the ADS system does not allow it.
The ADS decoder can act as
main
panel (enables house terminals to be programmed from the General
Entrance panel/s) or
secondary
(allows house terminals to be programmed from the Interior Block ADS
panel). See programming section.
If making calls to house terminals of the Block programmed as 0
00
00, it is not necessary to enter the initial
zeros.
The ADS decoder responds to a range of telephones that must be programmed by means of an initial
value and a final value. See programming section.
1 MDS Repeater Ref. 2339 will be required when the MDS BUS includes more than 120 ADS Decoders (1
Repeater will be connected for every 120 decoders).

Adjust Audio Balance:
This control should only be touched if whistles or beeps are heard during conversation when calls are
made from the General Entrance 3 .
To adjust, use an ADS telephone Ref. 2451, connected between terminals "+", "L" and "-" of the
corresponding ADS Decoder B
Audio levels in direction "outdor panel-apartment" and "apartment-outdoor panel" are adjusted only by
means of the potentiometers located in the amplifier of the corresponding outdoor panel.
