About PVD finishes:
PVD stands for ‘Physical Vapour Deposition’ and is the final layer placed on top of standard chrome
plating. It is as durable as the chrome plating itself. The PVD process is similar to electroplating, the
process used to chrome plate our tapware.
The tap bodies are sealed in an airtight chamber and a vacuum is created. In this vacuum, an inert gas
such as nitrogen is used as a medium, and the negatively charged tap bodies attract the positively
charged metallic particles. Different finishes are achieved by the different mix of compounds to create
metal vapour.
PVD coated products require the same cleaning as any chrome plated products.
