5.3 Device address (Online-systems)
For readers with RS232 interface usually an address setting isn’t necessary. For devices with
RS485 interface, the device address can be set via the DIP-switch or the host.
Bus mode with up to 16 readers:
Setting the device address is performed via the DIP-switches at athe opened device
(see
Fig. 1: Position of the connecting terminals and the operational control
) according to
the table seen below. by means of this, each reader is provided with an individual
address.

Bus mode with more than 16 readers:
The assignment of addresses is performed via the host.
NOTE:
As all devices are set with the address 0 (factory adjustment), they have to be
connected and configured one after the other.
