NOTE
To comply with the Type 4X and IP66 enclosure requirements, the light must be mounted in the
DOME UP position.
The Model 225X has provisions for mounting to 1/2" pipe. Before mounting, ensure that mat-
ing threads are clean. Thread the fixture onto the 1/2" pipe.
NOTE
To prevent the connection from loosening tighten the fixture to a MINIMUM torque of 5 ft-lbs.
(6.8 Nm) after threading it onto the pipe.
C. Electrical Connections.
To avoid electrical shock hazards, do not connect wires when power is applied.
THIs UNIT MUsT BE INsTALLED ON A 1/2 amp fUsED LINE.
The Model 225X is supplied with three leads: white, black, and green/yellow. Connect the
black lead to the phase side of the power source, and the white lead to the common (neutral)
side of the power source, and the green/yellow lead to ground.
If required, the green/yellow lead in the housing is provided for connection to an earth ground.
NOTE
The units are designed to operate on both 50 and 60 Hz electrical power. special modifications
are NOT required for the two different AC line frequencies.
III. MAINTENANCE.
To prevent ignition of hazardous atmospheres, disconnect the fixture from the supply circuit before
opening. Keep tightly closed when in operation.

• Any maintenance to the light system must be done with the power turned off.
• Any maintenance to the light system must be performed by a trained electrician in accordance
with all applicable national and local codes and standards in the country of use.
• Never alter the unit in any manner. safety in hazardous locations may be endangered if additional
openings or other alterations are made in units specifically designed for use in these locations.
• The nameplate, which may contain cautionary or other information of importance to maintenance
personnel, should not be obscured if exterior of housings used in hazardous locations are painted.
• Broken domes can lead to explosions which could result in serious injury or death. If the dome is
damaged in any way, it MUsT be replaced.
• The only electrical component to be replaced by the customer is the lamp.
Failure to follow all safety precautions and instructions may result in property damage, serious
injury, or death to you or others.
