Always ensure an adequate supply of fresh air
when starting and operating in closed rooms
and trenches!

Examine the starter rope of the recoil starter
for chafing before starting, replace if neces-
sary. A damaged rope can break and cause in-
juries during starting.
Always hold on to the machine.
Keep your feet away from the tamper plate, be-
cause the vibration starts immediately.
Always keep an eye on a running machine.

(ear defenders) before starting operation.

Before checking the engine speeds you should
change the air filter and check the engine oil level.

Start the engine.
Note

Run the tamper on ground that can be compacted.
Run the engine for approx. 15 minutes to warm up.

To read the idle speed set the throttle lever to
position MIN (Fig. 57).

speed from the existing engine rpm-meter
(Fig. 58).
