1.2.7.4  Cross slope

Steer and drive especially carefully with the support wheel folded

in. Danger of turning over!
Always unfold the support wheel for transport.
The tipping angle was measured on level, hard ground with the

machine stopped and not steering.
With loose soil, acceleration/deceleration, steering operated or

attached accessories the tipping angle may be considerably lower.
Driving across slopes should therefore be strictly avoided, because

of the high risk of tipping over and the related risk of severe or

even fatal accidents.

1.2.7.5  Milling operation

When milling road covering layers harmful dusts may be released.
The machine operator and other persons, who have to work in the

immediate vicinity of the milling machine, should wear their per-

sonal protective equipment to reduce the dust particles, when a

development of dust is noticed.
Contaminated parts of the body should be thoroughly washed

before breaks and at the end of work.
After work change dust covered working clothes against normal

clothes.
Do not store working clothes and respiratory equipment together

with normal clothes.
Wash dust covered working clothes at regular intervals.
Special caution is required when lowering the milling drum into the

ground and during the subsequent work process:

n

The scraper must not be fixed in place when lowering the

milling drum into the ground.

n

During careless starting of a new milling track the machine can

suddenly make a sudden and uncontrolled backwards move.

n

There may be foreign objects (pipes, metal parts and similar) in

the milling area, which may cause dangerous operating condi-

tions.

n

Ropes, strings, carpets or mats in the working area can be

pulled in by the milling drum when cutting into the ground or

during milling operation.

n

Worn cutting tools can cause dangerous operating conditions.

Always replace worn cutting tools in due time.

If necessary check the cutting tools several times a day.

Keep a safety distance when checking the milling depth.
Make sure that there are no persons in the danger zone.
Set the belt speed to ensure that no milling material is thrown out

in an uncontrolled manner.
