Unfolding/Extending the Toolbar
WARNING: Prevent serious injury or
death. The machine coming near or
contacting power lines can cause
electrocution. Electrocution can
occur without contact. Fully lower
wings before moving or transporting.
1.
Remove main wing lock pins (833P
only.)
2.
Pull SCV I backward to raise the
center section and inner wings.
3.
Verify tool bar is fully raised.
4.
Push SCV II forward to fully extend
the main wings’ cylinders.
5.
Put SCV II in float. The main wings
will remain “kicked up” until SCV I is
activated to lower them during field
operation.
6.
Push SCV III to extend the flip wings’
cylinders to full extension.
7.
Install the main win lock pins (833P
only) in their field position.
8.
Toolbar is in field position.
Field Operation Notes
IMPORTANT: Check that SCV I is
providing hydraulic fluid to the down
pressure (kick) circuit
Failure to keep SCV I engaged and
supplying a constant oil flow to the down
pressure system will result in coulters riding
out of the ground and could result in
structural failure of the toolbar and/or
hydraulic cylinder components.
IMPORTANT: Check that SCV II is in
the float position.
Failure to allow the main wings to freely
extend and retract as needed for changing
ground contours will put undue stress on the
toolbar structure and folding mechanism.
Use the 3PT Hitch remote in conjunction with
SCV I to lower the coulters into the ground.
The timing of motion must be right to have
main wing coulters touch down when
lowering (or exit when raising) at the same
time as all other coulters. This will permit
them to enter/exit the ground at a near
vertical angle.
Outer Wing of 40’ Machines
Chemical lines to the outer wings have a
valve to shut off flow to the flip wings. Turn
valves (E) off to get a 30’ application width.
Open the valves when the narrow
requirements are finished.
