Chapter 7: Configuring the FARO Gage in CAM2 Gage
Probes
Select MANAGE PROBES from the GAGE menu. In the C
OMPENSATION
dialog
box you can:
• Select the current probe and view the C
OMPENSATION
S
TATUS
.
• Create, Edit and Delete a probe.
• Compensate the current probe.
• View the compensation log for the current probe.
• Start the Single Point Articulation Test (SPAT).
• Run an Arm Compensation or reset to the FARO Factory Compensation.
The C
OMPENSATION
S
TATUS
and compensation date are displayed for every
probe. The two standard probes for the Gage (3mm and 6mm) are created by
default. Compensate each of these probes before you begin measuring your parts.
Click the PERFORM SINGLE POINT ARTICULATION TEST (SPAT) button
to run a Single Point Articulation Test (SPAT) with your Gage. You can save this
report to a file which you can send to FARO’s Customer Service Department.

Click the ARM COMPENSATION button to create a user arm compensation for
your Gage.
