NOTE: Always use a hitch pin of adequate size and
strength and a retaining pin with a locking
device.
NOTE: The following image may not show your
drawbar safety chain exactly as it appears but
the procedure is correct.

12. Install the hitch pin (1, Figure 139 ) and retaining
handle to securely fasten the equipment hitch to
the tractor drawbar.
NOTE: Make sure the tractor being used has a clevis
type drawbar.
13. Attach the safety chain (2) around the drawbar
mount.
NOTE: Always use a safety chain with a strength
rating greater than the gross weight of the
towed equipment.
14. Enter the operator’s position (see Entering The
Operator’s Position on page 79).
15. Use the tractor’s hydraulics to raise hydraulic jack
to the storage position. See the tractor’s owner’s
manual.
16. Stop the tractor and leave operator’s position (see
Leaving The Operator’s Position on page 79).

17. Place the hydraulic lock-up valve (1, Figure 140 )
for the hydraulic jack in the closed position.
AVOID INJURY OR DEATH
Keep fingers and hands out of pinch points when
connecting and disconnecting equipment.
