The first destination entry – the first trip

Tap on the
Destination entry
button on the main menu.

. Tap on the destination selection screen on the
Address
button to enter the destination you want.

Parts of addresses are entered via the keypad. You will
find explanations on how to use the keypad in the “Using
the keypad“ section. Enter the individual elements of the
address in the following order.
Country:
In the upper, right-hand section you will see a
button with a country abbreviation and a corresponding
flag for the country. If you wish to change the destina-
tion country, you should tap on this button and select a
country from the list which is displayed by tapping on it.
Confirm your selection by tapping on
Ok
.
Town/postcode:
Entering the town/city you want. Tap
on the
Postcode
button if you wish to enter the town/
city via the postcode. Then tap on the town/city you
want in the selection list.
Street:
After entering the street, tap on the street name
you want in the selection list.
Note:
If you have forgotten parts of the address of your
destination, you can also enter specific keywords (e.g.
“Gmü” for “Schwäbisch Gmünd”). You generally do not
need to enter the complete name of the town/city and/
or street.
Note:
Alternatively, you can select a desired point of
interest (POI) by tapping on the POI button (e.g. bars,
restaurants, petrol stations, etc.).
House number:
After entering the house number, tap
on the house number you want in the selection list.
Note:
Alternatively, you can choose not to enter the
street and/or the house number by tapping on the
Calculate
button directly. You will be directed to the
geographical centre of the town, city or street in question.
Delete button to delete letters or numbers which
you have entered incorrectly in the entry field.
Space
bar
Touching this button will take you to the block of
digits. You can then enter numbers.
You can scroll through the selection list using
the arrow keys.
You select the entry you want by tapping on it.
By touching this button you can show and hide
the
keypad.
Touching this button will take you to the block
of special characters. If you are entering the
name of a town or city with umlauts (ä, ö and ü), you do
not need to switch to the block of special characters as
automatic word recognition takes place when a, o and
u are entered. Tapping on “ABC“ takes you back to the
letter entry block.
Once you have entered a few letters, you will also be
shown a selection of possible terms, e.g. towns or cities
when entering a town/city, in the form of a list. At the
same time, letters which are no longer possible will be
blanked out on the keypad. The more letters you enter,
the more accurately the destination you desire will be
identified.
