Unpacking
Attention! Before the bridge is put into use, the serial number on the type
plate must be filled in on the EC declaration at the back of this manual.
Check that the package contains all parts of the VL35B230M and that it is not
damaged:
Control unit
Oil pipe
Bridge
Location of installation
• The bridge is designed to be used in covered and sheltered places
without obstacles from above. The bridge must not be installed next to
a washroom, paint benches or places where solvent or varnish is stored.
Installation near areas where a hazardous situation or explosion may
occur is strictly prohibited. The relevant occupational health and safety
standards, for example with regard to the minimum distance to walls or
other equipment, escape routes and the like, must be complied with.
• Check that the work area where the bridge will be installed is at least
4.2m high.
• Provide a safety zone of at least 1m.
• The work area must be lit in such a way that safe working conditions are
guaranteed.
• The bridge must be placed on a reinforced concrete floor that is at least
20 cm thick and in accordance with local regulations. The concrete must
be of minimum strength class C20-25 (250kg/cm²).
• The surface where the bridge is to be installed must be even and level
in all directions. A height difference, no more than 5mm, in the drive-on
direction and 5mm crosswise can be overcome with metal wedges.
• For installation on a raised surface, compliance with the maximum load-
-bearing capacity of the surface is recommended.
• New concrete must be given at least 28 days to set sufficiently.
Electrical connections
Attention! The bridge is 2.2kw 230v monophase and must be connected to a
separate group with a 16A slow C or D characteristic fuse.
Pay attention! Turn off the power when making the electrical connections.
The electrical connections may only be connected by experienced persons.
Also repairs or maintenance may only be carried out by experienced per-
sons. Damage caused by incorrect connection, maintenance or repair of the
bridge is not covered by the warranty.
• The wiring in the control unit must be connected according to the elec-
trical diagram.
• After the connections have been checked, the power can be switched
on. Then turn on the power switch located on the control unit(No.9), the
indicator light will come on.
