8. INFORMATION FOR THE CORRECT
DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND
ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES
At the end of its working life, the
product must not be disposed of
as urban waste. It must be taken
to a special local authority
differentiated waste collection
centre or to a dealer providing this
service. Disposing of a household
appliance separately avoids possible negative
consequences for the environment and health
deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables
the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain
significant savings in energy and resources.
To remind you that you must collaborate with a
selective collection scheme, the symbol shown
appears on the product warning you not to
dispose of it in traditional refuse containers.
For further information, contact your local authority
or the shop where you bought the product.
7. Put the pieces back together.
To prolong the life of the HEPA filter, it is
protected by a mesh which filters larger
particles of dust. Clean the mesh often with
the aid of a soft brush where necessary and
taking care not to break it. You may also
wash it in lukewarm water, being careful to
dry it thoroughly before reassembling it.
Air outlet filter (8)
The air outlet filter filters the air as it comes
out. To change it, remove the grille holding it
and replace it with a new one when changing
the filter
(Fig. 9)
.
The dust container must be emptied when the
filter indicator window turns red while the
vacuum cleaner is operating at maximum
power and the nozzle is totally free.
Unplug the appliance and remove the suction
hose from the suction hole.
Press the safety catch on the dust container
(3)
and remove the container by pulling its
handle
(2)
upwards.
Important: Do not use this handle to carry
the appliance.
Press the catch on the container case
(22)
to
open the container and empty it.
Clean away any dust which may have
accumulated in the container and close the
lower case
(23)
, replacing the container.
5. EMPTYING THE DUST CONTAINER
Before any cleaning operation, unplug the
appliance. The vacuum cleaner and
accessories may be cleaned with a damp
cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive
products to clean the appliance.
DO NOT IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE IN
WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID
7. CLEANING
Unplug the appliance and remove the suction
hose.
HEPA filter (19)
Clean the HEPA filter when it is full.
Change the filter when you see that suction
power is significantly decreased. It is advisable
to change the HEPA filter at least once a year.
Caution: Do not operate the vacuum
cleaner without the HEPA
filter as this could damage the motor.
To clean or change the HEPA filter:
1. Remove the container as explained in the
section entitled Emptying the Dust
Container
2. Turn the container case until it opens
(Fig.
8)
.
3. Remove the upper part of the case and the
