Measuring current
Switch off the supply to the circuit. Connect the probes in series with the circuit to
be measured. Switch on the supply to the circuit, read the value measured.
Resolution 10mA
Accuracy
±
1.2%
Protection fuse 10A 250V
(see Spare Parts chapter)
Contact breaker point condition
Connect the black wire to the distributor ground.
Connect the red wire to the moving part of the CB points or the primary output wire.
Switch on the ignition making sure that the CB points are closed. The display shows
a value in volts. Below 250mV a continuous audible sound is emitted. If the audible
signal stops the CB points are in poor condition.
Measuring the dwell angle in degrees
Select the appropriate number of cylinders
Connect the red wire to the CB terminal on the coil
Connect the black wire to the vehicle ground
Start the engine and allow it to idle until the idle speed becomes normal without the
choke before checking the dwell angle.
Resolution 0.1 degrees
Accuracy

Protection against overloads 250V AC/DC
(See drawing on page 14)
