Installing the unit into a rail-mount rack
The 6900/8900 platform includes hardware that you install to secure the unit
to the rack.
To install the unit into the rack
1. Extend the outer rails to the fully locked position.
2. Slide the ball retainer on each rail to the front of the rail, as shown in
Figure 2.7, on page 2-8.
3. Align the rear portion of the inner rails to the black plastic
alignment pins, as shown in Figure 2.7, on page 2-8.
4. Slide the unit into the rack, fitting the inner rails attached to the unit
to the outer rails attached to the rack and continue sliding the rail to
the fully closed position.
Note: If the rail stops suddenly or locks, press the levers on the
inner rail to enable the rails to slide into the fully closed position.
5. Move the unit in and out of the rack to settle the slide operation.
6. Ensure that all screws and Keps nuts are properly tightened.
7. Secure the rail mount lock brackets to the rack using at least two
screws on each side, as shown in Figure 2.8.
