Training
Inertia will dictate the speed and hence the type of
resistance training you are doing.
Lower inertia will lead to movements with higher speed, less
force and higher power. For max strength; slow and controlled
movements with a high force and low speed are warranted, and
hence more inertia is used.
The flywheel workout zones can be helpful, if you want to read

For assisted overload training a partner is helping pressing
down the swing beam.
Let the partner help add more force by pressing down the swing
beam in the concentric (flexion) phase of the movement, then
have them let go in the eccentric (extension) phase.
Other overload techniques can be used alone. For example, using
both legs on the way down and only one leg on the way up.
