the glue and a surface that is too hot prevents
the glue from setting, thus preventing quality
joining of the materials.
y
Materials that cool down quickly (e.g. steel)
should be preheated, e.g. using a hair fan, to
improve the adhesion of the glue.
y
Apply the melted glue on to the surface by pre-
ssing on the extension lever.
y
After applying the glue, immediately press the
glued parts together for approx. 30 seconds.
y
When the operating temperature inside the glue
gun falls, the glue gun will be automatically
heated to the operating temperature by the
flame igniting.
Note:
y
Glue remains can be peeled off using one‘s hand
or removed using a sharp implement.
VII. Turning off the glue gun
y
When you have finished working, set the gas
inflow control mechanism (fig. 1, position 6) to
position „O“ and allow the glue gun to cool down
on the stand (fig. 2) in a safe location out of
reach of children and animals.

SAFE USE WARNINGS FOR THE
GAS-POWERED GLUE GUN
y
This appliance is used exclusively with cigarette
lighter gas. Attempting to connect other types of
gas bottles or using a different type of gas may
be hazardous.
y
Prevent the appliance from being used by persons
(including children) whose physical, sensory or
mental disability or incapacity or insufficient experi-
ence or knowledge prevents them from safely using
the power tool without supervision and instruction.
Children must not play with the appliance. It is con-
ceded that seriously handicapped persons may have
needs outside the level of construction and design
of the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance perfor-
med by the user may not be performed by children.
Children must not refill the fuel into the glue gun.
y
Only use the appliance in an outdoor environ-
ment or in a well-ventilated area to ensure
a sufficient supply of combustion air and to
prevent the dangerous accumulation of unburned
fuel, in accordance with the requirements of nati-
onal legislation. Likewise, fumes from the melted
glue may cause eye and respiratory tract irritation
to sensitive persons and therefore it is necessary
to provide ventilation of the area in such a case.
y
Do not use the appliance if it has damaged or
worn out seals (note: the appliance is not equi-
pped with an external removable seal that the
user can inspect or replace in the event of a leak).
Do not use an appliance that is leaking, damaged
or that is not working correctly. In the event of
leaks or faulty working order, have the glue gun
replaced with a faultless unit.
y
The appliance must be operated on a horizontal
surface.
y
The appliance must not be used in the vicinity of flam-
mable materials and in an environment where there
is a risk of fire of explosion. Before filling the glue gun
with gas, the glue gun must be turned off and cooled
down. Ensure that contact of hot parts of the applian-
ce with walls and other possibly flammable materials
is prevented. Maintain a safe distance of the set-aside
appliance of at least 30 cm from surfaces.
y
In the event that your appliance leaks (gas odour),
immediately take it outdoors, to a location
without the presence of an open flame and with
good ventilation, where this leak can be identi-
fied. If you wish to check your appliance for leaks,
perform this check outdoors. Do not attempt
to identify leaks using an open flame, use
a foam-forming solution (e.g. soapsuds). Do not
submerge the glue gun in a container filled with
water. Prevent water from entering the device.
y
Apart from the holding parts of the glue gun, the
remaining parts of the appliance are very hot.
Only handle the glue gun holding it by the han-
dle part. Keep hands and other parts of the body
at a sufficient distance from exhaust gases (fig.
1, position 2), risk of burns. Prevent the access of
small children and uninstructed and uninformed
persons to the appliance.
VIII. Cleaning,
maintenance, repairs
•
ATTENTION
y
Before cleaning and carrying out maintenance
on the glue gun, allow it to cool down thorough-
ly in a safe location out of children‘s reach, where
there is no risk of a fire or explosion.
y
Do not modify the appliance in any way.
CLEANING THE MELT GLUE OUTLET
NOZZLE OF THE GLUE GUN
y
The melt glue outlet nozzle does not require any
special maintenance. When used correctly, to
clear the nozzle, it is sufficient to heat the glue
gun to its operating temperature.
y
If necessary, slightly heat up the melt glue outlet
nozzle of the glue gun and wipe it into a suitable
textile. When working with the glue gun, wear
suitable gloves to prevent the user from suffe-
ring burns.
