Basic Configuration
Each AvediaPlayer Receiver must have an IP address before you can carry out any configuration. This chapter explains how to:
•
Determine the receiver’s IP address when using a DHCP server
•
Assign a static IP address
•
Configure the receiver’s name and location
Using a DHCP Server to Determine the Receiver’s IP Address
If you have a DHCP server on the network, the receiver’s IP address is allocated automatically. If you are using AvediaServer Director, you can then access the
receiver directly, as shown in “Using AvediaServer Director”. If you do not have access to AvediaServer Director, you must first determine its IP address using
one of the following methods:

Using the Connected TV and Remote Handset
•
Using the Serial Admin Interface
•
Using Network scanning software such as Advanced IP Scanner
Once you have determined the receiver’s IP address, you can then enter this into a browser, as described in “Log into the Web Interface” on page 25.
