Programing the Remote Control
Handset
Five buttons on an Exterity remote control handset V5 can be reconfigured to directly control a TV.
Several methods are available to configure the remote to control a specific TV. Each method is
triggered by a special key-press. An overview of the programing features and the corresponding
key press is shown in Table 1, with more details in subsequent sections.
Notation: <> normal key press, << >> press and hold this key or these keys for 3 seconds. 1+3
indicates pressing both keys at the same time, whereas 1, 3 indicates pressing the keys
sequentially.

Brand Search
This method uses a TV manufacturer Brand name ID to
quickly find the correct IR codes for a TV using the built-in IR
database.
Inactivity timeout: 300s.

Standby or Mute
Full Auto Search
Similar to the Brand search the remote will search for
IR-codes through the full IR database.
Inactivity timeout: 300s.

Manual code-set entry
Allows direct entry of a Code-set ID to program the remote
for a specific TV model.
This is meant mainly for support or mass programing
multiple remotes once the correct code has been found and
tested.
Inactivity timeout: 300s.

Key Fix
Allows you to fix keys that still don’t work after a Brand
search, Auto search or manual code-set entry. This can also
be used to disable a key and prevent it from controlling the
TV, for example; the AV button.
Inactivity timeout: 300s.

Manufacturing Reset
Reset the remote to factory settings.
Inactivity timeout: 30s.

Code-set ID Blink out
Reads out the installed code-set ID from the IRDB.
