Descaling
The manufacturer recommends to
descale the kettle regularly, as a heavily
calcified kettle increases the power
consumption. The intervals at which you
should descale the kettle depend on the
hardness of the water used and the
frequency of use.
•
Descale the kettle every 3 months
for normal use and soft water and
1x per month for hard water.
•
Information about the water
hardness in your residential area
can be obtained from the
responsible waterworks.
•
Descale the kettle at the latest
when the boiling process takes a
very long time or heavy limescale
deposits have formed on the
heating plate in the water
container.
•
Fill the descaling liquid into the
water tank. For this purpose, you
can mix household vinegar with
water in a 1:1 ratio or use
commercial descaler. When using
a descaler, follow the
manufacturer's instructions for
use.
•
Boil the descaling liquid in the
kettle.
•
After boiling, leave the liquid to
soak for about half an hour.
•
If the calcification is more severe,
boil the liquid a second time.
•
Then pour away the liquid.
•
Boil fresh tap water and pour it
away after boiling.
•
Now the kettle is descaled and you
can use it again as usual.

Storage
Once the mains plug is inserted into a
plug socket and the water container is
placed on the base, the appliance will
consume a small amount of power even
if you are not boiling water. Unplug the
mains plug from the socket to
completely disconnect the kettle from
the mains when not in use.
