O
PERATION
Shifting
When shifting from FOR-
WARD to REVERSE or from REVERSE to
FORWARD, pause at NEUTRAL until the
engine is at idle speed and the boat has
slowed.
If the following directions are not suitable for
your boat’s control, see your Dealer before
proceeding.
With engine running and control handle in
NEUTRAL:
Side Mount Controls
Unlock the control handle by lifting the neutral
lock lever on the hand grip. Move the control
handle with a firm, quick motion, forward or aft
until it engages the forward or reverse gear
detent.
Binnacle Mount Controls
Move the control handle with a firm, quick mo-
tion, forward or aft until it engages the forward
or reverse gear detent.
Speed Control
After gear engagement, move the control
handle slowly in the same direction to in-
crease speed.
FUEL ECONOMY
Fuel economy can vary depending on boat
load, hull design, and throttle setting. When
boat reaches top speed, throttle back from
FULL SPEED to a lower throttle setting. You
will save fuel with a minimal loss of speed.
