Most problems with ice makers are
water related (70% by manufacturers’
estimates). Clean up the water
and clean up most maintenance
problems!
Chief Offenders:
Dirt:
Wears pumps, blocks
solenoids, pits evaporators.
Chlorine*:
Gas corrodes stainless
parts, surfaces rust.
Scale Buildup:
Coats evaporator,
slows harvest, lowers production,
increases energy usage.
