Battery replacement
When the batteries in the remote control are flat, or before longer-term
storage, insert two AAA (1.5V) batteries following the instructions below.
• Slide open the battery cover.
• Remove the old batteries (if applicable) and replace them with two fresh AAA
batteries, observing the polarity markings (+ / –) in the compartment.
• Close the compartment.
End of season maintenance
• On a dry day let the fan of the appliance work (LOW, MID or HIGH speed) for
half a day so that the inside of the unit can dry completely.
• Switch off the unit and disconnect the power plug from the wall socket.
• Clean and replace the filter.
• Clean the fins of the condenser (at the back of the unit) and the evaporator
(at the front) using a soft brush or the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner.
Handle with care
when cleaning the appliance. Do not damage the fins.
• Remove the batteries from the remote control before storage and if the
appliance is not going to be used for a longer period of time.
Battery precautions
• Only use fresh batteries of the required size and type. Do not mix old and
new, or different types of battery. Insert the batteries correctly according to
the polarity markings.
Keep batteries away from children.
• To prevent a risk of explosion, normal batteries must not be charged, heated
or disposed of by burning. Do not open batteries or short-circuit them. Never
subject batteries to high temperatures.
• Dispose of batteries promptly and properly, observing any local hazardous
waste regulations. Do not burn or bury them.
• If battery acid has leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous
membranes to prevent injury. In the event of contact with the acid, rinse the
affected areas immediately with plenty of clean water and contact a doctor
at once.
