Parallel Printer
This is still the most common type of printer. A
Parallel
to
USB
(see
“Left
Side View” on page 1 - 11
for
USB 2.0
port information, or
“Rear View” on
page 1 - 16
for
USB
1.1 port information) converter may be purchased at most
computer stores.
Install Instructions:
1.
Set up the printer according to its instructions (unpacking, paper tray, toner/
ink cartridge etc.).
2.
Attach the parallel cable to the printer.
3.
Connect the printer’s parallel cable to the Parallel to USB converter, and
then plug the converter into the USB port.
4.
Turn ON the printer.
5.
Turn ON the computer.
6.
Windows
(some operating systems may require a driver to recognize the
parallel to USB adapter) will identify the printer and either load one of its
own drivers or ask you to supply one. Follow the on-screen instructions.
