The DCF signal is encoded and trans-
mitted via a DCF transmitter in Main-
fl ingen (near Frankfurt). Its range is up
to 1,500 km and, under ideal reception
conditions, even up to 2,000 km.
Among other things, the DCF signal in-
cludes the precise time (theoretical de-
viation of 1 second in a million years!)
and the date.
Naturally, this also prevents the need to
manually set summer and winter time.
The reception attempt for the daily
automatic synchronisation with the
DCF time occurs during the night at
01:00, 02:00 and 03:00, since the DCF reception is better at night.
One successful reception per day is suffi cient to keep the deviation to less than
1 second.
INSTALLATION
Hang up the radio wall clock using the hanging eye on the back on a nail, a screw or
a hook on a vertical wall.
Due to the weight of the radio wall clock you must ensure that it is stably
mounted! If the clock falls, the housing of the radio wall clock will be dam-
aged; the guarantee will be void!
MANUAL START OF THE DCF RECEPTION
The DCF reception search can be started manually if, for example, the automatic
summer/winter time adjustment was not recognised or the clock temporarily had no
DCF reception and displays the wrong time.
Open the battery compartment cover and press and hold the “WAVE” button (3)
for more than 3 seconds. When the hands are moving fast, release the button. The
hands move to the 12 o’clock position and afterwards the radio wall clock searches
for the DCF signal.
You may also remove the battery for a few seconds and then insert it again.
SETTING THE TIME MANUALLY
It is necessary to set the time manually if the radio wall clock is to be used beyond
the range of the DCF signal, such as in a basement room. Proceed as follows:

Open the battery compartment cover and press and hold the “SET” button (1) for
longer than 5 seconds to activate the manual setting mode and set the time. The
seconds hand stops.
This is possible only when the radio wall clock is not in the reception mode
for the DCF signal.

As long as you keep the “SET” button (1) pressed, the hands keep moving.

Just before reaching the correct time, release the “SET” button (1). If you then
press the “SET” button (1) briefl y, the minutes hand moves on by exactly one
minute.
The manual settings mode is terminated if you do not press the “SET”
button (1) for about 6 seconds. The seconds hand then restarts.
A separate setting of the second hand is not possible.
SETTING THE DATE MANUALLY
As described above, manual setting can be necessary if the radio wall clock is to be
used beyond the range of the DCF signal, such as in a basement room.
Proceed as follows:

Press and hold the “SET” button (5) in the lower area (under the battery cover)
for about 3 seconds, until the year begins to fl ash in the display.

Set the year with the “UP” (8) and “DOWN” (6) buttons. For quick adjustment,
hold the corresponding button for a while longer.

Briefl y press the “SET” button (5) to switch to setting the month and date and
set these as described above for the year.

Then briefl y press the “SET” button (5) again to exit the set mode.
The day of the week is calculated automatically based on the set date.
SWITCHING BETWEEN TEMPERATURE UNITS °C/°F
Briefl y press the °C/°F button (7) in order to change the display of the indoor tem-
perature between °C (degrees Celsius) and °F (degrees Fahrenheit).
RESET
If the radio wall clock does not react or if you fi nd function disruptions, open the
battery compartment and press and hold the “RESET” button (2) for 3 seconds.
You may also remove the battery for a few seconds and then insert it again.
Afterwards the radio wall clock attempts to receive the DCF signal.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled
for any reason.
Please use a soft, dry, clean cloth for cleaning. Do not apply too much pressure on
the housing or the front glass, this can cause damage or scratch marks.
Do not use any chemical cleaning agents, as they can discolour the plastic casing.
DISPOSAL
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed
of in the household waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the
current statutory requirements.
Remove any inserted battery and dispose of it separately from the product.
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
The end user is legally obliged (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and
rechargeable batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these sym-
bols to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The sym-
bols for the relevant heavy metals are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury, Pb=Lead
(marking can be seen on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g., underneath
the refuse bin symbol shown on the left).
You can return used (rechargeable) batteries free of charge at the offi cial collec-
tion points in your municipality, our stores, or wherever (rechargeable) batteries
are sold!
You thereby fulfi l your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the
environment.
