5.2.2.4 Power Up:
• Power up the system by turning on the rocker switch/breaker on the MXA controller’s rear panel (
Figure 5,
(18)
). A chime sounds, and system initiates boot load, the message “LOADING” is presented on the front panel
display screen.
• Total boot loading and baseline time required to achieve a
SETUP
or
OPERATE
state is approximately 35
seconds. At approximately 30 seconds, an MXA display appears consisting of three scrolling axis signal level
graphs along with a text indication of machine state in the lower lefthand corner of the screen and a bottom line
of text indicating time and IP address status. Five seconds following appearance of the front panel (FP)
scrolling display, system status should advance to
SETUP
if interfering field levels are above one or more
Trip thresholds, and remain in that state until protected volume interfering field values are reduced below Trip
thresholds, in the following steps. If the current interfering field levels are below the Trip thresholds, the system
will advance to its
OPERATE
state and the same setup procedure described in the following steps applies.
• An IP address will be assigned to the MACS/D system by the local area network Ethernet router; IP assignment
may be either DHCP or, if the system is behind a firewall, permanently assigned. Check the MXA controller
FP display at the bottom right corner to confirm network connection (see
Figure 4, (1d)
). Initial IP address
assignment may require up to several minutes; subsequent power-up reassignments should occur
within 1 minute.
5.2.3 Setup Using the WEB UI
Refer to
Section 4
for the following steps as needed. If not already done or window closed, use a web browser to
open the web UI by typing in the IP address on the front panel display. The IP address will appear at the bottom of
the MXA controller display (
Figure 4, (1d)
). This will take you to the Home page.
• Log In. Contact factory for login password, if necessary.
• Click on the Trace Page to verify the System Status, Amplifier Current, MCC, DSP, CPLD versions, etc.
• Click on Advanced to open up the Advanced Parameters page.
• Verify that these parameters are set to the following values (format: X, Y, Z); change the selected values or
slider setting as required:

Note: If the MACS/D system is supplied from factory inventory, it will initially come up in TEST mode with probe
scaling coefficients set for the Bartington MAG-03MCT1000 triaxial sensor that is typically used for MMA (MRI)
installations, at 0.1mT/V. The probe scaling coefficients must be changed to .01mT/V if a type MAG-03MCT100
triaxial sensor, typically used for MEA (EMFC) installations, is employed.

Confirm BOTH boxes checked: Apply Z to X, and Apply Z to Y (standard installation)
o
Confirm Z-axis Filter Coefficients – check for non-zero values.
This coefficient set is
incorporated in, and automatically loaded from the current DSP Firmware version, as described
in related MACS/D SW/FW documentation.
