MAINTENANCE
Turn the LH and RH adjusting nuts clockwise alter-
nately and equally the same amount to tighten the chain,
or belt, to the correct tension as described under checking
the tension. Tighten the jam nuts on each bolt when the
tension is correct.
IMPORTANT:
Each adjusting nut must be turned
equally in small increments from side to side in order
to insure that the shaft remains at right angles to the
frame.

Check the belt flashing daily and replace as necessary
to prevent material spillage. Check the lower belt flash
-
ing, at the discharge pulley, daily. Check the door rubber
seals daily. Replace any rubber parts that are worn thin
or torn, to prevent material spillage.
The top rubber cover of your trailer conveyor belt is
made of a special Nitrile rubber specifically compounded
to withstand high heat and oil degradation. The belt must
be exposed to oily materials in order to protect the Nitrile
rubber from cracking.
If the conveyor belts are carrying non-oily materi-
als, a petroleum-based oil (or even soybean or canola oil)
should be applied to the top cover. This action would
help extend the life of the belt, but full life will only be
realized when conveying oily materials.
The allowable temperature range of the Nitrile top
cover of the conveyor belt is 350 deg. F. to 0 deg. F.
The top temperature range is dependent on an oily
environment. The low temperature range would be
compromised by loss of plastisizers from salts or fertil-
izers, etc. on the belt.

2. Pivot Standoff
Adjust linkage length and pivot standoff to set the
linkage slightly overcenter when the door is fully closed.
This will relieve the load on the cylinder and insure
that the door will remain closed in the event of cylinder
failure or loss of air pressure.
