Connecting to an integrated amplifier

Use XLR cables to connect the analog audio output (ESL-A XLR) con-
nectors on this unit to the ES-LINK Analog input (ESL-A) connectors
on the integrated amplifier.

Set this unit’s analog audio output connector setting (LOUT>) to
ESLA (page 29).
o
Set the integrated amplifier input selector to ESLA.
o
Set the analog audio output level setting (L_VOL>) of the unit to
FIX, and use the integrated amplifier to adjust the volume.
NOTE
Normal XLR and RCA connections are also possible. Select the con-
nection type that provides the audio quality you prefer.

Use XLR cables to connect the analog audio output (ESL-A PRE OUT)
connectors on this unit to the ES-LINK Analog input (ESL-A) connec-
tors on the power amplifier.

Set the power amplifier input selector to ESLA.
o
Use the VOLUME knob on this unit to adjust the volume.
o
Set this unit’s analog audio output level setting (L_VOL>) to ON
(page 29).
ATTENTION
The ESL-A PRE OUT output connectors of this unit are female-type
connectors to prevent accidental connection with XLR output
connectors.
ES-LINK Analog overview
The unique Esoteric ES-LINK Analog transmission method utilizes the performance of HCLD buffer circuits, which feature the ability to supply
strong current at high speed. This suppresses the impact of impedance on signal paths, enabling pure and powerful transmission of signals.

Ordinary balanced cables (with XLR connectors) are used for connection. These connectors can only be used with compatible devices, how-
ever, because the transmission format is unique.
