The table consists of a sturdy frame and a tabletop in stainless steel and glass. The
AVT platform is located in the middle of the tabletop and it is floating on the AVT mech-
anism.
The anti-vibration mechanism works as a passive damping device and only partially
damps the vibration that is generated on the AVT platform itself.
The microscope must be placed on the anti-vibration float.
In all buildings, floors vibrate at low frequencies that may affect the performance of
high-magnification microscope. The effects of vibration can be greatly reduced by in-
stalling a system that isolates the microscope area. The degree of improvement varies
between instruments and locations, depending on the amplitude and frequency of floor
vibrations.
