1. Unscrew the locking screw
r
used to lock the microscope head, if re-
quired, to the extent required for it not to project into the interior of the
ring mount (B) for the microscope head.
2. Insert the microscope head (A) into the ring mount (B) of the focusing
arm until it sits flush.
3. Turn the locking screw
r
tight manually in a clockwise direction.
4. Screw the fasteners (C) for the clips
u
to the object stop using the holes
provided.
5. Place one of the two microscopic slide discs
i
supplied in the corre-
sponding housing recess above the transmitted light unit.
6. Connect the connector to the power supply
f
via the accompanying
power cable using a properly wired and earthed mains power socket.
Operation
Selecting the microscopic slide disc
Select the microscopic slide disc appropriate to
the object to be scrutinised by the microscope:
• For transparent objects that are to be illu
-
minated by the transmitted light unit, select
the microscopic slide disc made of frosted
glass.
• For bright objects that are to be illuminated
by the incident light unit, select the black
side of the black-and-white microscopic
slide disc for optimal contrast.
• For dark objects that are to be illuminated by the incident light unit,
select the white side of the black-and-white microscopic slide disc
for optimal contrast.
