Important Tips
to collect a blood sample and choose a
clean and dry place to conduct the test.
Prior to testing, either use an alcohol
wipe or soapy water to disinfect the
sampling site. Use war water to
increase blood flow if necessary. Dry
your hands and the sampling site,
ensuring that there is no soap residue
remaining.
It is used to determine blood glucose
concentrations in fresh capillary whole
blood. It can be used for both self-testing
and professional use. Test results can be
used to manage blood glucose levels, but
should not be used for the diagnosis of
diabetes.
Note
A lancing device is not included with the
Equil Insulin Patch Pump System, but
can be purchased separately from the
local distributor. The components of
the lancing device and lancet is
illustrated in Figure 85.
