The chimney should be one metre higher than the
highest part of the house. If you need to increase the
draw, extend the length of the chimney.

CORRECTO
The joints of the pipes that form the chimney, in
the case of metal pipes, must be sealed with refractory
putty.
The female coupling of the pipes must face
upwards to avoid any possible creosote from leaking out.
External metal chimneys must be built with
special double insulated pipes for solid fuels.
2.2.5 Installation using existing chimneys.
When using existing chimneys, it is advisable to place
one or two metres of metal pipe inside the existing chimney
and ensure that the gap between the brickwork chimney
and the pipes has been sealed (see figure).
The inside section of the chimney must be perfectly
insulated so that it is capable of resisting the high
temperatures reached by the insert fireplace.
Insulation should be placed on the internal walls,
allowing air to flow around the insert fireplace.
Never place
insulations around the insert fireplace;
it may be
damaged if heat is unable to dissipate. The metal chimney
should not be wrapped with insulating fibre.
Internal insulation must not prevent the passage of
air through the hood ventilation grilles.
Insulating fibre used inside must resist high
temperatures and must not produce any odour when
heated.
If the chimney should catch fire (
an excessive
accumulation of creosote may catch fire
), close all air input
to the device (primary and secondary) and even close air
input to the room where the device has been installed. This
will cause the flame to go out by themselves.
IMPORTANT
Never let the full weight of the chimney lie on the Insert
Fireplace. This could damage it.
It is advisable to clean the chimney at least
once a year.
In order to access the chimney for cleaning purposes,
observe the following instructions:
a)
Remove the deflection plate (follow the
instructions described in chapter
“
cleaning
”.
b)
Once the deflection plate has been removed, you
will be able to access the chimney. Clean the conduit
using a special chimney brush with a weight as
described in fig. 1.
These steps must be performed whenever the device
has been unused for a long period of time to ensure
no blockage exists before lighting it.
