Cleaning the Platen, Pressure
Rollers, and Media Holding
Plates
Ink and particles of the media and lint from the media
accumulate on the platen, pressure rollers, and media
holding plates. Ink on these surfaces may be transferred
to the media. Clean them thoroughly.

The after heater may be hot; observe all
necessary precautions. Failure to observe the
necessary precautions could result in burns.

Be careful not to trap your hands or fingers
when opening or closing the front cover.
Failure to observe this precaution could result
in injury.

Important:
Do not use ink cleaner when cleaning the platen,
high pressure rollers, or media holding plates.
Before starting this procedure, be sure to read the

Make sure the printer is turned off and the screen
has turned off, and then unplug the power cable
from the outlet.

Leave the printer for a minute.

Open the front cover.
D
Raise the media loading lever.
E
Remove stains on the pressure rollers using a dry,
soft cloth.
Slide a dry cloth between the pressure rollers and
the platen and over the upper part of the pressure
rollers to wipe the area.

Important:
Do not press strongly on the rollers when
wiping. This may detach the rollers.
