This section is organized by troubles to determine the causes. Find out the trouble you
face in the
Table 3-3
, and carry out checks according to the corresponding table.

move smoothly with the
CR Motor removed?

Check the Carriage
Movement Mechanism, and
replace the corresponding part
with a new one, or
disassemble the mechanism to
reassemble it.

3 CR Motor failure.
Disconnect the connectors
on the Main Board and
measure the coil resistance
between pin 2 and pin 4, and
pin 1 and pin 3 on the
Motor.
Is the resistance of the both
point approximately 4.8
ohms?
No
Replace the CR Motor with a
new one.
