INTRODUCTION

Thank you for your recent EnviroAire IAQ 1” Polarized 
Media Air Cleaner purchase. We sincerely appreciate your 
business and are pleased to add your name to our growing 
list of loyal customers. 

Please take a few minutes to read this booklet. This will 
familiarize your system’s parts and how to replace the 
media, helping you understand the routing maintenance that 
will be required. 

IMPORTANT:

 Scheduled replacement of 

EnviroAire IAQ 1” Polarized Media Air Cleaner filtering 
media is necessary. 

Your EnviroAire IAQ 1” Polarized Media Air Cleaner is 
an investment in the health and comfort of your family and 
protection for your home and furnishings. With this purchase, 
you have invested in an air cleaner that is many times more 
efficient than ordinary furnace or air conditioning filters with 
which you may be familiar. There are many benefits you 
may expect from your EnviroAire IAQ 1” Polarized Media 
Air Cleaner, this manual is meant to acquaint you with these 
benefits, and with operation and maintenance information to 
insure the high level of performance this high efficiency air 
cleaner is designed to provide. 

Follow the step-by-step instructions below to replace your media pad. Replacement media pads are available at 

www.enviroaireiaq.com

, or from preferred EnviroAire IAQ HVAC contractors.

WARNING: WHENEVER INSTALLING OR REMOVING THE AIR CLEANER, THE POWER TO THE FURNACE/AIR 

HANDLER MUST BE TURNED OFF. CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN NOT TO LET THE JACK TOUCH ANY GROUNDED 

OR METAL SURFACES. ALTHOUGH THE JACK IS SHIELDED, IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE CENTRAL POWER TO 

INSERT TO CONTACT GROUND WHICH COULD RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE TRANSFORMER OR ELECTRONICS. 

MAINTENANCE AND MEDIA PAD REPLACEMENT

REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

1. Turn the thermostat fan switch to the “OFF” position. 

2. Turn off power to the furnace/air handler. 

3. Open the filter access door or grille. 

4. Unplug the power supply cord from the air cleaner top channel. 

5. Remove the air cleaner from the filter rack or return air grille. 

6. Open the air cleaner (

), carefully remove the old media 

pad, and discard. 

7. If dust has accumulated on the outer screen of the air cleaner, 

clean with a dry brush or vacuum. 

8. Position the new replacement media pad so that it is centered 

within the air cleaner frame (

).  

9. Close and re-latch the air cleaner. 

10. Return the air cleaner to its location in the furnace/air handler  

or return air grille. 

11. Plug the power supply cord into the air cleaner once it is 

securely in place (

).  

12. Close the filter access door or grille and restore power to the 

furnace/air handler. 

13. Switch the thermostat back to the “ON” position. For optimum 

results, the furnace/air handler should be run continuously with 

the fan switch in the “ON” position, rather than the “AUTO” position.  

14. In damp or humid areas, the new media pad may make a slight 

snapping sound when first installed. This is normal and should stop 

within 24 hours of operation.

NOTE: Media pads generally last 3-5 months, depending on household conditions. In a new installation, however, it is 
suggested that the media pad be inspected and/or replaced after one month of operation due to the initial cleanup of 
contaminants. Only genuine EnviroAire IAQ replacement media pads should be used with your air cleaner. Failure to do so 
could cause damage to the air cleaner, alter air cleaner performance, and/or void your warranty.
