Initial Installation
QUALIFIED INSTALLERS ONLY
Any venting configuration that passes through a vertical exterior wall requires the rear heat shield
installation. Center the shield over the vent pipe and secure to exterior wall framing (see Figure 30). The
bottom of the mounting flange should be approximately 1 inch (254mm) above the top of the vent pipe.

All vent configurations require installation of the vertical vent heat shield. Remove the
three (3) T-20 screws from their respective locations and use to secure the shield in position (see
Figure 29).
The horizontal vent heat shield is only required for minimum vertical rise vent configurations. Use
three (3) supplied T-20 screws to secure it to the vertical vent heat shield (see Figure 29).
