Quality Assurance and Sensor Self-Tests
7.1
Introduction
The control unit QA/Self-Tests menu screen provides the following maintenance
and testing functions.
Function
Purpose
Maintenance mode
(Start/Stop)
Puts sensor in a Maintenance mode to
allowing cleaning and maintenance of the
sensor.
Sensor Self-tests
(Zero, Span, Short-
circuit)
Run internal sensor self-tests to check the
validity and reliability of measurements.
Comms check
Checks communication between the control
unit and the sensor.
Scaling
Obtain an average sensor reading to scale
against an isokinetic sample result.
7.2
Sensor Self-Tests
The QA/Self-Tests menu screen allows the status of self-tests to be reviewed for
each sensor. These may be set to run automatically and can also be manually
forced (for example, during installation or maintenance).
Self-tests provide automatic monitoring of the integrity of sensors. The control
unit can be configured to provide alarm notification of self-test failures. In
addition, self-tests can be manually run to check the validity of measurements
before carrying out isokinetic sampling used for calibration.
