Use the number keys to send the registration event: 

• 

Press “1” to send the “Register remote control to Decoder 1” 
event for Remote #1. 

• 

Press “2” to send the “Register remote control to Decoder 2” 
event for Remote #2. 

• 

Press “3” to send the “Register remote control to Decoder 3” 
event for Remote #3. 

• 

Press “0” if the remote will be used in IR-only mode. In IR-only 
mode, the remote control is assigned to decoder 1 and will not 
send an RF signal. 

To return to IR and RF mode, follow the steps above to send a 
registration even to a decoder. 

  If you press a key other than "0", "1", "2" or "3", or if you do not press 

a button within about 10 seconds, the STB button backlight LED will 
turn off, and the remote control registration process terminates. 

After you enter a registration event, the “STB” button backlight LED on 
the remote control and the Hydra front panel LED will blink twice to 
indicate that the registration process was successful. 

  Repeat the four steps above for each remote control. 

7. Manually Program Additional Devices 

Entone’s universal remote control is preprogrammed at the factory to 
operate the Hydra. The default TV device is brand “APEX” while the default 
AUX device is brand “JVC” VCR. To control devices other than default 
brands (excluding Hydra), perform the following steps: 

1. 

Use the remote control’s mode keys (i.e., STB, TV, or AUX) to control 
a specific device. When pressed, the selected mode key will light, 
confirming your choice. 

2. 

Turn on a device (e.g., VCR or DVD player) and with media inserted 
(if applicable). 

3. 

On the remote control, press a device key once (i.e., AUX or TV). 
Note: Use the AUX key to program control of VCR, DVD player, cable 
box, satellite set-top-box and audio device. 

4. 

Press and hold the “Setup” key until the selected mode key blinks 
twice, then release “Setup” cable box, satellite set-top-box and audio 
device. 

5. 

Locate the code for the desired device in the code set table (brands 
are listed in alphabetical order). 

6. 

Enter the first four-digit code for you device. If you perform this 
procedure correctly, the selected mode key will blink twice. 

Note: If you enter an invalid code, the selected device key will fast 
blink 7 times and the device program mode will be terminated. 

7. 

Aim the remote control at your device and press the “Power” once. 
The device should be turned off. If it does not respond,
