1. GENERAL
The luminaire switches on the light automatically when an object with thermal radiation,
e.g. a human being or a car is moving within its range of detection.
When choosing place of installation avoid any interfering sources within the detection area
that might unnecessarily activate the luminaire, such as ventilation pipes, hot-air fans, moving
branches, refl ecting glass and wall surfaces or other light fi ttings that are too near and are
directed towards the detector unit.
THE INSTALLATION SHOULD ONLY BE DONE BY A COMPETENT ELECTRICIAN. USE
ONLY THE LIGHT SOURCE AND WATTAGE MARKED ON THE LIGHT FITTING. CONNECT
ONLY ALLOWED EXTERNAL LOAD. MAKE SURE THAT MAINS POWER IS SWITCHED OFF
BEFORE INSTALLATION OR SERVICE.
Light source:
AVR 70.4 max 75W / E27
AVR 71.4 max 60W / E27
AVR 72.1184 E,18W TC-L / 2G11
External load max.: 400W incandescent lamps or 400VA fl uorescent tube load.
2. INSTALLATION (see fi gure 1)
The light fi tting is mounted in upright position directly on the wall or on a fl ush junction box.
Recommended mounting height is 2.2 m.
Take off the diffuser by turning a suitable screwdriver in the opening slit on the body.
When mounting the light fi tting on a fl ush junction box use the enclosed M4 screws, otherwise
wood screws. Use the gasket PMR 816 under the fastening screws. In humid places the gasket
PMR 365 is used between the light fi tting base and the fl ush junction box.
For looping-in, knock out the blank hole with a screwdriver. Cut out the blank holes for surface
mounted cables with side-cutting pliers. Use the enclosed membrane gaskets PMR 615 in the
cable lead-in openings.
3. CONNECTING (see fi gure 2)
Connect the live wire to the terminal L and the neutral wire to the terminal N. Connect the
external load between the terminals and N, see fi g. 2 a.
The control unit can be operated by an external shunt switch, in which case the light is on
continuously. Connect he switch between the terminals L and , see fi g 2 b.
When necessary to lead off condense water bore a Ø 5mm hole by wall mounting in the body
beside the opening hole for the diffuser, but not opposite the fi xing part for the diffuser.
Remove the diffuser before boring.
4. DETECTOR AREA (see fi gure 3 and 4)
The PIR motion detector monitors an area of 180º in the horizontal.
Vertically the angle covered is 45º and this can be steplessly adjusted downwards by a further
45º. The detection distance depends on the angle of the detector and the height of the lamp,
as shown in fi gure 3. The maximum detection distance is approx. 12 m.
The PIR motion detector is most sensitive when movement occurs at right angles to the detector
and least sensitive when movement occurs directly towards it.
The detection distance may also vary according to the ambient temperature, decreasing as
the temperature falls.
Sensitivity also depends on the speed of the movement within the area monitored
