Optional Data register
The
Optional Data
register can be used to specify up to 4 byte of custom data that will be
transmitted as part of each data telegram. This optional data can store user-specific or ap-
plication-specific information.
The size of the
Optional Data
field is specified by the
OPTIONAL DATA SIZE
field in the
Con-
figuration
register. The following settings of
OPTIONAL DATA SIZE
are supported:
0b00
: 0 byte (No optional data, default)
0b01
: 1 byte
0b10
: 2 byte
0b11
: 4 byte
If the size of the
OPTIONAL DATA SIZE
field is set to a non-zero value in the
Configuration
register then PTM 215B will read the corresponding amount of data from the
Optional Data
register beginning with the least significant byte (Byte 0 – Optional Data 0).
Note that using the optional data feature requires additional energy for the radio telegram
transmission and might therefore reduce the total number of redundant telegrams which
are transmitted.
